Yesterday, we launched a flexible and accessible word press theme for schools and Education – the latest product. This is the first theme created by our team. It truly integrates everything Gutenberg block editor must provide, such as reusable blocks, editor styles, content groups, and default block customization. Sugar coating has no effect. This is not the fast or easy project we expected. But the end result is worth it. We thought we could share the reasons and methods of our creation here. This is useful for anyone who chooses, designs, or develops new WordPress Themes in the future. The

We also learned that we would like to rely on word press customization programs for various theme options and settings. We fell in love with the kirki framework and took advantage of many of the controls it provided. Our theme uses CSS variables to make development easier and faster (JavaScript is used less to improve performance). Running on IE 11 requires special scripts (used by many customers). Not all functions can be used on IE 11. For font options, we started by creating many free Google fonts that can be used in custom tools. However, since we need to load all the deformations and styles that may be difficult to load (bold, italic, etc.), we decided not to include any Google fonts, but only add free variable fonts. Modern fonts have enough deformation to provide an excellent choice for end users. The
Finally, the customer lOOO icon of our school. Iconmoon makes it easy for you to choose from free icons (but I don’t want to include too many in order to slow down the site or not overwhelm users). As a result, you can easily add and customize icons for menus and content blocks. From this point of view, WordPress 5 allows us to add custom icon options to the menus of custom programs.
