The following is a copy of the original recording. David vogelpohl: Hello. Welcome to WMR’s WordPress community podcast press this. This is your host David vogelpohl. I support the WordPress community through my role in WP engine. I like to convey to you the best community you can hear in the media every week. Or click it or WMR on iTunes, iHeartRadio, spotify. You can subscribe to FM to the latest episode. In this episode, we will tell what we are grateful for in WordPress. It is for me to join this very special interview. Very good. This week at press this, I want to interview my thanks in the WordPress ecosystem. So I am very happy to participate in a very special period this year. Of course, when I interviewed myself, I invited a very special guest here. Let’s start. The first question is David. I would like to ask all the guests to tell us a brief story about the origin of your word printing machine. When did you first use a word printer? The
David vogelpohl: Thank you. David Well, the first time I used a text printer was around 2006. In 2006, I was making guest posts for blog marketing pilgrims. The blog marketing pilgrims thought that they had stopped selling since then, but they were established. A gentleman named Edie Belle and I are working on the guest post, which is about Panama’s invasion of Europe. It is not Panama, but the advertising platform Panama that Yahoo will release in Europe after it releases ads in the United States. Of course, there are many kinds of hits on Beatty headlines, but this is the first time I use something depressing. As you can see, this is a poster. Later, I continued my journey with WordPress. Finally, the WordPress agency, which actually owns and operates, joined the construction of my WP engine five years ago. The
Dv: that’s great. David, the first original story was not built with WordPress, but made with posters. Dv: yes, that’s right. No, I didn’t make games like Drupal at first, but I made insights and things like that. But my first experience was yes boost. Dv: very good, very good, really handsome. Now David says that you are now at WP engine, and he has temporarily acted as your agent. Now he is dedicated. Could you briefly introduce the work of WP engine? DV: Yes, well, great. Seems to have done a lot of things. I have joined WP engine for about 6 years. But my current role is vice president of growth for SMB. This is the biggest aspect of WP engine business. We also have a very healthy and growing enterprise in our business, but my task is to grow the SMB aspect of our business, so our team will think about product marketing, SMB marketing strategy or all kinds of methods. Customers, traffic, and inflow paths flow through the entire business web. Our product team, our long-term product strategy, and our corporate strategy and promotion have done a lot of things. Of course, thanks to the great involvement of the WordPress community with my friends and various people, I can actually easily host this podcast. As we all know, there are many people in the ecosystem
Got it. I think we have the obligation to keep our software up to date, just like running the WordPress website. I think that’s important. On the WP engine platform, we confirmed that all customers are unpatched versions of WordPress’s PHP patch version, but it is really good. I think the compatibility with the old version is a powerful force of WordPress, which is one of the things that is absolutely thankful. The
Male DV: Well, that’s really interesting. David, of course, many people lament backwards compatibility. But it’s interesting to hear your thanks for it. DV: Yes, absolutely. Thank you for your question, David. I think it is an important part of the WordPress ecosystem to go back to the part that does not leave people behind. That’s why I have this idea. Dv: great, David, thanks for sharing. Now, from the perspective of WordPress contribution, I would like to turn to the part that deserves thanks. As you know, it helps me understand other areas, especially the value aspect, both from the financial point of view and from people’s experience. Thanks for the WordPress space. The
Dv: yes. That’s a good question. I think most people who use the word press may be using the word press for commercial purposes. Yeah. They are using it to support the business. First, there are a lot of personal bloggers and things like that. But with the power of the wind, you may think of any media that conduct digital commerce in any way and in any form. But I think there is something interesting about the printing of words. Although people don’t always think about it from the perspective of profitability, I think this is the way WordPress provides people with experience. Like most listeners listening to the program today, people built with WordPress have a rich spectrum that can be easily accessed by non-technical people. Of course, companies in the WordPress space only use plug-in themes to build WordPress sites, and use block editors to build editors, post and page editors. As an assembler, this is the case. Instead of using code, people combine the site where the plug-in and theme are located and the content itself. Moreover, when many of us, including me, first entered WordPress, this was the way we built it. Of course, as time goes by, you don’t know. I think I should edit this. To look different, you need this. Therefore, this is required to start CSS and HTML and implement other functions. You can also start learning code fragments and some PHP. Finally, we can reach the time to create our own theme, or we can create our own functional application software again. That is, plug-ins that can start importing projects that contain WP engines are called engineer paths. This means that when I said that the WordPress community was open, you had such super engineers and such assemblers in the work camp, and everyone supported everyone else. It was an amazing moment. But from the perspective of experience, I think this is an amazing platform to cultivate digital experience and the ability to build and optimize websites. Then we see it happen again and again. I mean, in this program, David will ask you about your origin story every week when he hears you host it. Just like many people started, I was in a hamburger store. I was in college, doing this and that. I have a completely different job that I don’t like. I chose my interests. My friends gave me one
. Technology has changed. I remember setting up the first flash site soon. Flash memory no longer exists in this way. Many things have changed over the years. What will happen in the future when I dominate WordPress and the web? I think this is one part of predicting what will happen in the future. I think, especially in the expansion of the non English Circle market, we began to make more use of this route. Dv:wordpress has a multilingual community and needs translation resources. Of course, there are also anchors from communities and non English speaking countries, but I think this will be a great opportunity for future growth. It’s good to see that Wordcamp Asia is ready to start before the fans’ meeting. Christian dimnick at least eradicated it in the field. And I’m glad to see it coming back, where the energy will happen. But once again, I would like to thank the community for leading a global expansion through this openness, especially in the non English Circle market. But it has a global impact, as you might think of WordPress. I repeat, I think in the English speaking countries, the opportunities are still great, and there are many embarrassing tindie. Of course, the WordPress ecosystem is quite large, with many things, and of course, many documents and tools. I am very grateful for it. Also, I am very grateful to the WordPress ecosystem for its free or minimal advanced approach. Moreover, from a global perspective, this is especially true when I begin to think about the growth mode of WordPress in a country that may not have grown before. As a guest of David, one area I saw was an interview with press this, Mary, Mary Jo and her surroundings in Africa to help build and cultivate a WordPress community. I think it’s really cool. And, as we know, we see pockets in other global parts of the world. So again, I think you’re right to ask that question. For example, I think the global impact of the request is indeed something to be thankful for. Really handsome. Thank you for your attention and sharing on global impact games. I don’t want to go back to the perspective of opportunity. With the spirit of entrepreneurship and the rich tradition of WordPress, many people have made demands on these businesses. Dv: I’d like to know your opinion on the entrepreneur aspect of WordPress. Dv: yes, yes, obviously a lot has happened there. I generally believe that I am grateful for the entrepreneurial opportunities available within WordPress opportunities. When I own and operate my own WordPress agency, I need to make use of myself, which is very profitable. In my opinion, many other businesses in plug-ins, themes and WordPress services are based on corporate record hosting. Moreover, for the sake of entrepreneurship, I want to take advantage of opportunities there. From the episode before the media, we can see what is happening in the community. Acquisitions are everywhere. This is an amazing verification point for those who operate WordPress business today. And I think that’s an amazing thing. Therefore, in the process of keyhole, change and change, of course, some people have different opinions on various acquisitions, but the reality is that paying attention to activities is good for WordPress entrepreneurs. And I think that’s the amazing part. We are very grateful to it. Provide ecosystem opportunities. And, of course, I
The last thing I can say is WordPress. I really appreciate the opportunity and openness. The most important thing for friends who spend their lives together is that as an individual, I occupy a large part of myself. Thank you very much. Dv: Oh, that’s a good guide. David, you’re great. Thanks David for sharing my thanks. I really appreciate it. Dv: thank you for your performance today. Dv: Oh, thanks, David. I really appreciate it. Do it again if all goes well. Thank you for giving it to me. It’s big. It’s big. Yes, we should send you back completely. Very good. If you want to know more about what David is doing, please visit WP engine comm.
