Of course, we appeared in the discussion for interview. In fact, welcome to Brian Gardner, Brian, press this again. The
Brian Gardner: Yes, thank you for inviting me from different angles this time. Indeed. D V: Yes, of course. The last time is around 2018 It was after WP engine acquired studiopress. Obviously, we are going to deal with a part here for those listening today. Brian enjoys a high reputation in the WordPress community by creating a CO of the geneis framework for unfamiliar people. He currently leads WordPress developer relations and WP engine. Then we took him away or brought him here to talk about his journey. From 2018 to today after the acquisition, he has made plans for the future. Of course, generally speaking, his thoughts on the future of WordPress. Brian, I’m glad to talk about these issues here. Well, the last time I was you, I didn’t actually listen to the episode of 2018. Before that, I forgot the answer. But maybe you can answer all the same questions as I asked. Please tell me a simple story about the origin of the word printing press. When did you first use a word printer? The
BG: 2006. At that time, I came across a man named Brad on the Internet when I was introduced to WordPress. We were friends on the forum. I told him I was in Google blogspot. Then he said: A little better. You can control more things. Then I said, \
DV: after the WordPress core launched the theme, it was the same as in 2006. But just a year before he created the inspiration theme, bg: yes, it was a very fast, very fast deal. Dv: therefore, for revolutionary themes and strangers, I think it is similar to the predecessor of the genesis framework. And you were listed in 2007. Has WordPress built a platform different from the theme of the website before? Bg: No. WordPress, as I said, got its hands dirty for the first time. I found out how to operate CSS and started writing articles on my blog. I want a personal blog to share. Because I work full-time in the office and speculate that the company I work for has set up a research lab, I think online is cool. So this is an enthusiastic project. Then after sharing what I learned, people started asking if I could hire. Also.
I’ve got a chance. I can’t be happier than that. Where am I? Maledv:brian and someone from the real major league helped people they knew to master and expand technology in the construction of WordPress website. I am very happy to hear this news. I seem to have learned it in 2007 or 2006. Now, you mentioned your desire to sell studio for you, which explains everything you started with good words. Gutenberg knew that we had lost contact. Later, in the description, he talked about reading Justin’s report. I really like Justin’s report and tabbert. Then you said a click for you at that moment. I want to talk about the process for the time being, but what is Brian and Brian in the delta2018 Brian and Justin report between him and your hair? Missing between the two parts you clicked. Bg: is there not much time? I think I should show my head above all the things I want to prove to myself, or prove myself excellent beyond word press, theme or design project. It’s like you have to do something else to prove yourself to the world. So I started this journey. At that time, it had nothing to do with the company culture, so I decided not to use WP engine. I want to be a member of the team. But I have the same idea. We have to prove something here. So we have to start over and try something. Start over. So there are many things like this. I tried for a while, but failed. So there are many mistakes. And in most cases, I feel like I’m not hurt. You know, I put my feelings and what I have done and experienced on twitter on my sleeve for those who follow me. So you may see you at the top and valley of a post acquisition thing But when I saw this post sent by Justin, I found that I now saw a big picture and never stopped loving WordPress. And I love design, which is the most important part we have talked about before. You know, if I can do one thing, it will be a design that I can only do one thing in my life. And I have never loved the community more than I do now. However, all acquisitions must facilitate this shift. For example, when I see justice, I think I am ready, and I am ready to come back and do something I feel familiar with. I think I proved to myself that I tried. What I want to do may not be successful, but I am a traveller, so it doesn’t matter. I love traveling, everything has a reason, here. Dv: yes, no doubt. So it sounds like you don’t have a quote tag, you can’t hear it clearly, but you have all these different kinds of goals. I think this is a goal, a challenge or an open question for yourself, which is more related to your journey. Then, especially for technology. Yes, I can understand. Well, you said that you have now made something called frost theme. This is the genesis framework topic. Right? That’s right. I see. Then, describe the use of blocks. It’s like playing. But just like standing in the audience’s position, I want to know what you think about the role of blocks when thinking about frogs. Bg: so the block itself is powerful, but what Justin does is help you view the presentation layer of the pattern. This pattern becomes a big word around. And I think he’s actually in his bar
I think I wrote about the sea. WordPress builds the future of WordPress websites. And I have always been a beauty boy and a creative boy. So, although the block itself is great, considering that it can easily provide someone’s favorite system, just as the name suggests, a WordPress website can be built in a few seconds The challenge that excites me is whether it really leads to what I think is true. It refers to seeing a graphic or wireframe format, which can be done in a way that WordPress actually accepts, but can be done in other ways. It took me a long time to realize that what I thought was real could be realized, so I set out and built for us. Dv: that’s great. A recent trend that people talk about is that the history and products of studiopress Genesis can play two roles, including the way people use the block editor and advanced sub topics. Building sites for non developers, providing access to custom sites, and enabling developers to work faster sounds like part of the magic of discovery on the journey. Is that true? Or do you think it’s one of the two? Bg: no, I think that’s true. Really excited I’ve never been so excited about what we did last week or 15 years ago when we followed WordPress again. As we all know, Matt always says that the future of WordPress is farther than the future. And you know, oh, yes, it’s so funny, it’s easy to talk. But I always think so, so I think so every time I hear it. I always feel that there are more things to do and more past to form. So I am very happy to take the responsibility for my role here and WP engine. Dv: this seems to be segue. Right? In fact, I have a question about it. But we will have a final rest. I’ll be back soon. Dv: Hello, everyone. Welcome to WMR’s press this WordPress community podcast again. Host David vogelpohl. I’m interviewing Brian Gardner about being with him. Before you change your break, the very convenient topic Brian can talk to is perfect for the next question. But in WP engine, there is a new role that leads the WordPress developer relationship. Can you tell me the character? Also, maybe you can give me some examples about work or interesting things? Bg: yes, formally speaking, I’m the chief developer advocate. This is my topic. In essence, what I want to do here is to guide the WordPress developer relationship. The community helps people approach it through the transformation to customers, people who use our products, people who do not use them, and people who usually use the block editor and the editing sorting of the entire site. It’s only six weeks since Gutenberg’s experience, but it feels incredibly longer. All I have learned, and the strategy of formalizing when I accept this role, has given me too many opportunities to become a company and even a community classification. Use the resources we have to create content, teach and demonstrate the functions of word press. Here, we hope to set up a developer relationship team to become a knowledge repository and a channel between products, projects and users. Dv: great. It should be fun now. Recently, I plan to do several things with torque
Support ess community. I want to convey the best news of the community through press this every week.
